JOB TITLE:

Community Outreach Coordinator II

JOB PURPOSE:

Supports the development and delivery of training, community outreach and engagement for the Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND) Community Education and Training Programs related to health, education, and disability services. This will include the coordination and development of asynchronous and synchronous, and online and in-person, training on best-practices to support improved services and outcomes for individuals and their families, service providers and communities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and coordinate community education and training programs/services for targeted groups including professionals and community members. Programs to include training workshops, online and in-person course development, conferences, and community presentations; assess program needs, organize program materials; and evaluate program success.
  • Promote and maintain strong, positive relationships among external partners, faculty, staff, subject-matter experts, participants and those interested in the training programs.
  • Develop and maintain training content, Canvas learning management systems, and evaluation components.
  • Organize and keep track of courses, users, certificates of attendance, and professional credits.
  • Represent WIND at functions, meetings, conferences and events, which may include reporting on projects, planning collaborations with other project professionals, and evaluating projects.
  • Plan and coordinate activities to support community education and training programs.
  • Coordinate and/or assist in the development of marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to target audiences.
  • Develop and maintain program reports and records related to a specific activity, project, or services.
  • May conduct research for an activity, program or service and write articles and reports and develop strategies and avenues to disseminate information and research.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 2 years progressively responsible work-related experience. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.

Required licensure, certification, registration, or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in education, learning design and technology, instructional design, psychology, or related field.

Experience: Specific experience designing community training and education courses.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
  • Project planning and implementation
  • Best practices related to adult learning
  • Curriculum or training design and development; including Instructional Design and/or Universal Design for Learning
  • Canvas Learning Management System

Skills and Abilities to:
  • Coordinate and develop current and future activities of community education and training programs.
  • Organize and track information across multiple (simultaneous) ongoing projects.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques and professional judgment in complex, confidential and sensitive situations.
  • Work as a team member and foster a cooperative team environment with faculty, staff, students, families, and other customers from different backgrounds.

WORK LOCATION:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
