PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

  • Responsible for providing leadership in Agri-Finance, credit administration, and marketing of credit programs as a sales tool.

SUPERVISION & LEADERSHIP

  • Supervises, leads, and develops assigned staff through effective planning, coaching, and communicating performance expectations & standards, to achieve maximum growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Follows and implements GROWMARK FS credit policies.
  • Investigates and verifies financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit, preparing documents to substantiate findings, and recommending rejection or approval of applications.
  • Establishes credit limitations on consumer accounts and handles special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment.
  • Reviews collection and accounts receivable reports to ascertain status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
  • Audits delinquent accounts considered to be uncollectible to ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad debt status to account.
  • Coordinates with others, including personnel in company branches, to exchange information and update controls.
  • Participates in taking applications for financing and requests specified information for loan application.
  • Leads a staff that:
    • Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicants' evaluation.
    • Analyzes applicant's financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation.
    • Corresponds with or interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
    • Compiles loan package and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicants, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
    • Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to a loan committee for approval.
    • Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
    • Assures timely loan completion and funding activities.
  • Collaborate with third party organizations to implement commercial financing programs.
  • Coordinate with customer service team to administer credit functions to customer accounts and ensure compliance with GROWMARK FS credit policies.
  • Coordinates with the GROWMARK FS General Counsel Division and outside counsel on delinquent account collection.
  • Identifies and analyzes potential loan marketing options to develop prospects for operating loans.
  • Advises management of external factors that may affect lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to established policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and cross-sells other company products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
  • Provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • May submit delinquent accounts to attorney or outside agency for collection.
  • Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Normally requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or the equivalent thereof, and at least 3 years of accounting or finance related area to demonstrate financial leadership, organization, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK System credit administration. The ideal candidate will be familiar with commercial lending to agricultural producers.
  • Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
  • Must be able to work extended hours beyond those considered "normal."
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
