What will you be doing?

* Responsible for all housekeeping employees and training of same as prescribed by the Director of Housekeeping.

* To insure maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment assigned to the Housekeeping Department.

* Be responsible for cleanliness, daily up-keep and inspection of assigned areas.

* Supervise the proper storage, dilution and distribution of cleaning products and supplies as it applies to the Housekeeping Department.

* Perform special tasks as directed by the Director of Housekeeping.

* Communicate with the Director of Housekeeper on continuous basis regarding problems, planning, training implementation and control as it applies to the Housekeeping Department.

* Check schedules and instruct all employees carefully so that they fully understand the assigned tasks, location of work area and equipment required to do the job.

* Be sure all teams have adequate support from Housekeeping Supervisors.

* Inform the Director of Housekeeper of any special work to be completed that day and summarize day's activities at end of shift.

* Report to the Director Housekeeper at the end of each day to summarize the day's activities.

* Use computer effectively (especially OPERA and Microsoft Office).

* In conjunction with Director Housekeeper, revise policies and procedures as necessary; Responsible for daily productivity.

* Hiring and disciplining employees as required; represent management at unemployment hearings, union grievances, arbitrations and discussions.

* Be familiar with Osha regulations with regard to Hazcom training and Bloodborne pathogens

* Performs other duties as assigned.

What do you bring to the role?

* High School Diploma, college preferred.

* Previous experienced preferred; Be mobile in all areas of the hotel

* Climb stairs when necessary for inspections

* Tolerate presence and/or use for chemicals, cleansers and solvents

* Respond to or communicate via telephone, radio or beeper

* Operate computer, typewriter and calculator; Respond to guest comments and requests

* Must reach six (6) to eight (8) eight feet to tops of showers and closets; fully loaded cart on carpet requires a push/pull force for twenty-five (25) to thirty (30) pounds.

* Communicate directly, telephonically/electronically and by transcription with guests, general public, management and staff in English.

* Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels and other instructions.

* Ability to read, write and speak English; ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, staff and co-workers; pleasant personality, team-oriented and enjoy working with and assisting people; excellent communication skills; knowledge in room cleaning and shampooing.

* Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
