Animal Services

Summary

Responsible for performing routine animal care and related duties at the Garland Adoption Center and Animal Shelter.

Pay Range: $14.00/hr

Work Schedule: Sunday thru Wednesday, 7:30am to 6:00pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct medical and behavioral evaluations for pets placed in the adoption program.

• Handle animals, working with volunteers, receiving animals and preparing adoption paperwork.

• Socialize with adoptable animals and assist citizens interested in adoption

• Maintain proper inventory level of food, cleaning supplies, and other materials.

• Perform kennel cleaning and related housekeeping duties.

• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform job functions

• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Work is performed in an animal shelter setting. Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, carrying and lifting over 25 pounds. May need to work outside in various weather conditions.
