The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $127,504 - $166,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What We Offer:




  • Lead complex projects through the project lifecycle, including delegating project tasks as appropriate.



  • Design complex material handling systems that integrate both software and hardware components.



  • Perform the full range of standard work for all subsystems on any given material handing project.



  • Train and develop lower-level engineers by providing detailed instructions and mentoring for other team members.



  • Understand interface between Dematic system and external 3rd party systems.



  • Troubleshoot complex programming and electrical issues that arise on a customer site.



  • Commission critical path work independently as well as lead on-site commissioning teams for large projects.



  • Participate in schedule review, aligning ME/CE segments.



  • Compare sales/estimating documents with company and customer standards. Schedule and facilitate Hardware, Software, Safety and System Tech reviews.



  • Develop staffing plan and implementation plan. Track project financials. Check and approve all system drawings.



  • Verify PLC code and emulation. Document, program, and test host interfaces.



  • Verify final commissioning plan from PM for concerns. Lead commissioning efforts on-site. Assist other engineers in hardware and software troubleshooting techniques.





What You Will Do In This Role:




  • Requires a bachelor's degree in mechatronics engineering, electrical engineering or closely related field and 4 years of experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer or closely related occupation.



  • Also requires 2 years of experience with Merges: Zipper Merges, Time-Based Merges, Encoder-Based Merges, and Side Induct Merges; Sorters: PLC Sorters, RATS (Right Angle Transfers), SWD (Steerable Wheel Diverts), Flexsort Controlled Sorters (SL2, Rs200), and Gapper; Distributed Controls Architecture: Motorized Driven Roller Controllers, ECCs (Embedded Conveyor Controllers), DMCs (Dual Motor Controllers), Asi-Safe through ASIMON, AB PLCs, and AB VFDs; and Software: Maestro, Emulate 3D, RS Logix, and Siemens TIA Portal.



  • 50% travel required to various unanticipated locations primarily in the U.S. Located at Dematic Corp. Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the U.S. Apply at jobs.localjobnetwork.com.
