Our Billings, MT office is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented undergraduate student to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. This hands-on experience offers an opportunity to gain insight into the daily operations of a law firm, as well as opportunities to observe and learn from legal professionals.

This is a paid internship with the opportunity for a flexible part-time or full-time schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Legal Administrative Intern role will provide general administrative and clerical support to our legal team by preparing and formatting documents, updating internal databases, and supporting general office operations. This entry-level internship is designed to provide students with exposure to the legal profession and develop professional office skills in a legal environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the legal team in reviewing, organizing, and maintaining medical records.
  • Bates stamp and prepare documents for use in legal proceedings.
  • Draft basic case summaries under the guidance of attorneys or paralegals.
  • Contact clients to gather missing information or documentation.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, and maintaining digital case files.
  • Support data entry, document management, and other clerical functions as needed.
  • Shadow attorneys and legal staff to observe case development, firm processes, and workflows.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Support other duties as assigned.

  • Maintains a professional demeanor when representing the firm.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail when reviewing contracts, discovery materials, or due diligence documents.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms, and to actively listen to others.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
  • Ability to work well with others, contribute to group efforts, and build respectful relationships across diverse teams.
  • Capacity to adjust to new situations, embrace change, and remain productive in dynamic environments.
  • Proactively seeks ways to improve and takes ownership of completing tasks accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrates eagerness to learn about the legal profession, law firm operations, and the litigations process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current undergraduate student.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other similar software.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and clicking.?
  • Must be able to lift and move light items up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and sit.
