Description
The Sr. Electrical Engineer, under general supervision, performs broad and complex engineering assignments requiring originality, ingenuity, and the development of new methods. Provides technical support related to planning, designing, analyzing, constructing, and maintaining structures, systems, and components. Provides engineering advice as needed and displays technical competence requiring general direction from higher level engineering staff. This position is responsible for the overall concept, architecture, design, and development of nuclear radiation detection instruments and accessories. Under supervision, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will perform product development, interpretation of marketing requirements and implementation of customer specifications. You will participate in project teams consisting of other electronic and mechanical members of the engineering team. Provide existing product line support, as well as conduct design reviews and cost/time/risk evaluations. Must be able to work for the company without Visa sponsorship of any kind. Essential Duties
- Analog, digital, and mixed-signal detailed design.
- Design of embedded processor(s).
- Data acquisition system design.
- Generation of complete design release documentation.
- Project scheduling/planning.
- Circuit and system analysis/simulation.
- Test procedures, user's manual generation.
- ORCAD schematic entry.
- Worst-case analysis.
- Cost estimation and analysis.
- Management of multiple concurrent projects.
- Specify electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components.

Additional Requirements
- Good working knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.
- Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, USB Ethernet interfaces.
- Basic knowledge of sales, marketing, manufacturing, and customer support functions.
- PCB layout experience.
- Design for manufacturability.
- Member of the relevant professional societies.
- Knowledge of military specifications, environments, and qualification testing.
- Familiarity with design approaches for EMI/EMC management.
- Familiar with low power/high voltage power supply design.
- Knowledge of radiation detection techniques and sensors.
- Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Interface effectively with other departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.

*Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline OR 3-5+ years engineering related work experience may substitute for formal education. - Experience
