The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for an experienced litigator who is capable of managing a diverse litigation and pre-litigation docket and can think creatively in resolving disputes.

This position will report to the VP, Global Litigation & Legal Operations and will be REMOTE.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: JD from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials

  • Current bar admission in good standing required

  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years combined relevant experience at a law firm and in-house legal department

  • Strong litigation background with knowledge of all pre-trial, trial, and post-trial work

  • Preference will be given to those with experience in life sciences companies

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Manage all aspects of in-house litigation support from start to finish, including record retention/legal holds, discovery, witness interviews, mediations/arbitrations, trials, and appeals

  • Independently develop strategy and manages, from start to finish, lawsuits and subpoena responses on behalf of the Company, including early case assessments, exposure analyses, and matter disposition goals

  • Proactively identify and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential litigation

  • Select, direct, and work collaboratively with fit-for-purpose outside counsel to deliver most favorable results for the enterprise

  • Collaborate with other legal departments, Finance, Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk Management teams and other functions to provide capable

  • Develop and effectively manage budgets

  • Handle other responsibilities delegated by the Vice President of Litigation

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$148,200.00 - $247,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
