Job Summary This position will work with the Career Advising Team in the Office of Student Affairs to provide a wide range of support for programs and processes related to the career development of medical students throughout all years in medical school. The position will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of career advising programing including the Year 1 and Year 2 Advisory programs, Student Specialty Interest Group programs, Medical Student Summer Research processes, residency application and match processes, and website support. This position provides support to the overall functions of Career Advising within the Office of Student Affairs & Career Advising in the medical school. Essential Functions
- Provide support in the planning, development and execution of career exploration and career advising programs and processes for medical students.
- Coordinate the College of Medicine Advisory Program for 1st and 2nd year medical students.
- Provide administrative support for the senior class residency application programs and processes.
- Manage processes for the DUCOM Post Year 1 Medical Students Summer Research Fellowship program, including management of the student application and faculty review processes, handling of communications about the program to students, coordination of student stipend payments and management of the summer seminar series that accompanies this program.
- Provide administrative support, coordinate and assist in the implementation of processes for the preparation of the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) for senior medical students. Draft individual senior student's MSPEs.
- Maintain and assist in the management of the Career Advising webpages to provide students with relevant, accurate, current and robust career advising information and resources.
- Maintain and disseminate career advising resources as well as research opportunities and other career exploration or advancement opportunities for medical students.
- Coordinate resources on construction of a Curriculum Vitae (CV) for students. Review and provide individual guidance to students on their CVs. * Assist in developing strategies to improve visibility and access to career service and resources through website enhancements, campus advertising, student email listservs, etc.
- Maintain and advance the specialty match and residency interview databases for students, deans, career advisors, and faculty pathway directors to optimize these resources for advising medical students.
- Assist in the creation and administration of assessment and evaluation procedures for career advising services and programs in order to best inform future enhancements.
- Draft Dean's Letters of Recommendations for medical students who need these for summer research fellowship applications, Away rotation applications, etc.
- Provide support to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs for Career Advising and serve as a liaison between medical students and the Associate Dean of Student Affairs for Career Advising.
- Serve as a liaison to students to access career advising resources and programming. Serve as the point person for communication to and from students via the Career Advising email - MedCAreerAdvise@drexel.edu. Answer student emails sent to this email address in a timely fashion.
- Work collaboratively with the Student Affairs team to support and deliver essential milestone programs for the medical student body.
- Perform other duties as Assigned by the Associate Dean of Student Affairs for Career Advising, the Associate Director of Career Advising and/or the Senior Associate Dean of Student Affairs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferably in an academic environment with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with students and faculty

- Demonstrated flexibility in organization of workflow and adaptability to changing tasks.
- Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to recognize and respond to student needs with appropriate triage and management.
- A self-starter who takes initiative and is willing to learn new software and products
- Proficient knowledge and experience with Windows products; Proficient in MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS Excel.
- Website management skills preferred.

Additional Information This position is classified as Non-Exempt, grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $19.69 to $ 29.54 per hour. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
