DESCRIPTION

Under direct supervision of the nurse manager and the general supervision of the clinic providers and licensed nursing staff performs work which requires specific knowledge and training in patient care duties within business and professions code of the State of California and/or the regulations The Joint Commission (TJC).

These duties also include but are not limited to: scheduling of patient appointments and associated patient system screens; accurate billing; environmental care functions; equipment/supply management; and cleaning/disinfecting the environment. Other relatedduties as assigned.

This position is for infusion centers in Encinitas, Vista, and Murrieta.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program.

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology.

  • Previous experience and knowledge in direct patient care and use of EMR.

  • Online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics.

  • Strong ability to take initiative, prioritize demands and work in a team environment.

  • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Infusion/Oncology experience.

  • Gynecologic oncology/Procedures experience.

  • Epic experience.

  • Experience working with vulnerable patient populations.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Position will primarily float between Encinitas, Vista, and Murrieta clinics. If needed, it is required to float to any outpatient cancer services clinic.

  • Murrieta Clinic may require coverage once a week, with the opportunity to rotate with other colleagues.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $25.31 - $31.50

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
