 Acara Solutions is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for one of our clients in Niagara Falls, NY. 
  Direct Placement$120k (flexible based on experience)8am-4pm Start ASAP The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining production processes for high-temperature materials, including carbon, graphite, and other ceramics. This position will support daily operations, implement process improvements, and lead cross-functional projects to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate is hands-on, data-driven, and capable of balancing both technical process engineering and project management responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: 
  Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for high-temperature material production. Identify and implement process improvements to increase yield, reduce waste, and enhance throughput. Support production teams by creating component and assembly drawings with Solidworks, troubleshooting equipment and process issues. Collaborate with engineering, R&D, maintenance, and quality to transition products and processes into production. Manage small capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning. Design and maintain process documentation including standard work, travelers, and PFMEAs. Work with suppliers to specify and procure equipment, materials, and tooling. Collect and analyze process data to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory quality and safety standards. Support cost reduction initiatives and lean manufacturing programs. Support root cause investigations, process control plans, and CAPAs. Analyze process data to improve yield, throughput, and thermal uniformity. Provide technical leadership in ISO9001-2015 environments for production, qualification and traceability. Required Skills / Qualifications: 
  Bachelor's degree in Composites Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 6 - 10 years of experience in manufacturing Hands-on experience with hot presses, autoclaves, vacuum furnaces, natural gas furnaces, and induction furnaces. Demonstrated success optimizing production processes, managing projects and process scale-up. Familiarity with high-temperature measurement, thermocouple calibration, and gas system operation (argon, nitrogen, hydrogen, etc.). Strong problem-solving skills using statistical methods and process data. Proficient in Solidworks CAD/CAM and process documentation systems. Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to work cross-functionally across R&D, operations, and quality in a fast-paced environment.  Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Preferred Experience: 
  Experience in ceramic composites or graphite. Knowledge of ceramics materials, graphite, prepreg, and VacRTM. Familiarity with DoD, NASA, or prime contractor material qualification standards. Working knowledge of AS9100 and defense manufacturing documentation requirements.
