Position Overview

QinetiQ is seeking a dynamic Total Rewards Manager to lead the design, implementation, and administration of compensation, benefits, and recognition programs that attract, retain, and engage top talent.

This role plays a critical part in aligning our Total Rewards strategy with QinetiQ's mission to protect lives and secure the future through innovation and excellence in defense and national security.



Responsibilities

    Develop, implement, and manage competitive compensation programs-including salary structures, annual merit cycles, incentive plans, and variable pay-to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of health, welfare, retirement, and employee well-being programs. Partner with vendors and brokers to optimize plan performance, cost efficiency, and employee value.
  • Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local laws and government contracting regulations (FLSA, OFCCP, ERISA, ACA, etc.). Maintain documentation to support audit readiness.
  • Analyze market data, internal pay equity, and benefits utilization to assess program effectiveness. Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership to support competitive and fiscally responsible decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with HR business partners, Finance, and Talent Acquisition to guide offer development, promotions, and retention strategies. Advise leaders on total rewards best practices to drive engagement and performance.
  • Lead the development and continuous evolution of QinetiQ US's total rewards strategy to drive organizational performance, reinforce company culture, and support talent attraction and retention in a competitive government contracting market.
  • Design, implement, and administer compensation frameworks-including base pay structures, incentive programs, and variable pay plans-that balance market competitiveness with internal equity and fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure all total rewards programs adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and OFCCP. Maintain strong governance and documentation to ensure audit readiness in a government contracting environment.
  • Drive clear and compelling communication of total rewards programs to enhance employee understanding, engagement, and appreciation of QinetiQ's investment in its people.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes, leverage technology, and strengthen alignment between Total Rewards programs and organizational goals.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline preferred. Master's degree or professional certification (CCP, CBP, CEBS, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards, ideally within a government contracting or highly regulated industry.
  • Proven ability to design and manage compensation and benefits programs that drive engagement, retention, and organizational performance.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with experience interpreting complex data and market metrics to inform strategy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems required.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills, with a proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
