About Housing and Residential Life https://www.csulb.edu/student-affairs/university-housing-residential-life The Housing and Residential Life (HRL) team provides a safe, inclusive, and student-centered residential environment that supports academic and personal growth. HRL manages all aspects of university housing, including operations, maintenance, and residential life initiatives. The Role Under the general supervision of the Director of Housing Facilities, the Associate Director of Housing Facilities independently manages daily housing facility operations, including maintenance, custodial services, and facilities projects. This position requires a strong understanding of trades and MEP systems to develop and implement effective solutions to maintenance and operational challenges. In collaboration with the Director, the Associate Director plans, staffs, directs, and manages daily operations-including construction, routine and preventative maintenance, alteration projects, and capital improvements-while ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational excellence. The incumbent provides general supervision to a multi-skilled facilities team and assists with budget preparation and management. Your Day Will Likely Include: Managing routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and capital projects across HRL facilities (including MEP and custodial operations).

Physical Summary: Medium work - involves lifting up to 40 pounds and performing tasks such as standing, kneeling, or walking 20-40% of the time. Work may take place in varied environments, including mechanical spaces and outdoor areas. Compensation: Hiring Range: $9,166 - $9,834 per month (commensurate with education, experience, and skills).
