This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers is working together with one of the nation's premier health systems, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

New York Presbyterian Hospital Westchester is a 288-bed hospital which has provided superior healthcare to the residents of Southern Westchester County and the surrounding communities since 1909. NYPW is a designated New York State Stroke Center and is known for excellence in Breast Imaging, Bariatric Surgery, Cardiology and Oncology. NYPW provides emergency care to approximately 35,000 individuals annually and delivers nearly 2,000 babies each year.

Bronxville, New York is in the heart of Southern Westchester County. This area is conveniently located to many main thoroughfares allowing for proximity to NYC. This beautiful suburban neighborhood with excellent public schools, access to the great outdoors and city life, is a wonderful place to live and work.

The Department of Pediatrics at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in conjunction with New York-Presbyterian Hospital Westchester (formally known as Lawrence Hospital) seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Hospital Medicine Physician for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Located in Bronxville, NY, we are an emerging pediatric center, currently home to a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a newborn nursery, and a 6-bed pediatric unit. Pediatric hospitalists will work along-side Columbia neonatologists to provide high quality care to the pediatric inpatient service as well as pediatric consultation to our emergency room.

Key Responsibilities



  • Provide direct medical services and treatment on the inpatient service. Create, direct, coordinate and supervise the patient care plans daily.
  • Consult on pediatric patients in the Emergency Room.
  • Consult on and/or support needs of children admitted to the surgical subspecialties as needed.
  • Assist neonatologists if they require additional support in the delivery room, post-partum floor or NICU on a busy day.
  • Assist with expansion of Pediatric department which will entail a larger patient population and a specialty consult service program.
  • Collaborate with and support APPs who assist with patient care on the Inpatient Pediatric Service and in the Emergency Department.
  • Adapt schedule as program grows and evolves such that clinical time will reflect needs of the patient population.


  • Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License.
  • Must have Board Certification or board eligible.
