 The Section Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and managing strategies to ensure that the Station operates in full compliance with applicable federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations and standard, as well as Company policy, procedures and protocols.Environment, Health and Safety: Promote a culture that supports high standard, ethical behavior and open communication in all environmental, health and safety compliance activities and follow up to ensure correct actions are implemented.Environment, Health and Safety: Investigate and respond to inquiries on all EH&S incidents to determine the root cause and establish the appropriate corrective action plans. Manage and ensure that required documentation, permits, licenses, and inspections records are complete accurate and in compliance with governmental and company requirements. Ensure all required facility drills are conducted in accordance with Company policy and regulations.Communication: Serve as a local public liaison to help maintain a good working relationship with the community. Act as facility spokesperson with agencies including the NYSDEC, NYCDEP, USCG, FDNY, USEPA and OSHA. Keep upper management apprised of significant events, which may challenge the safety or continued operations of the plant.Review of Environmental Health & Safety Procedures: Establish and review Administrative Directives and EH&S procedures to ensure they cover all of the EH&S requirements and are in compliance with all Steam Operations and EH&S Procedures. Provide expert guidance to staff and Steam Operations concerning Safety and Environmental management requirements.Personnel: Lead and support EH&S personnel to enhance morale and productivity. Model diversity and inclusion, and promote employee development. Provide advice in personnel related policies and procedures.Environment & Safety: Ensure that safe practices are followed in accordance with Company policies and governmental regulations. Implement company health and safety programs. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and program procedures applicable to Steam Operations personnel.Information Management: Utilize appropriate computer applications such as Microsoft Office, and other company specific work management and data applications. Maintain the integrity of the systems used through security practices. Maintain the integrity of the systems used through security practices.Housekeeping: Review housekeeping practices by making frequent inspections of work areas and taking corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards.Emergency Response: Respond to Steam Operations emergencies and incidents such as injuries, spills, releases, storms, and violations. Support station personnel during operational emergencies. Should be training to take over an Incident Command role when required.Work with Plant management providing assistance to implement safety initiatives and support various safety meetings.Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.  Relevant Work ExperienceBachelor's Degree and 8 years relevant work experience Power plant or EH&S experience orMaster's Degree and 6 years relevant work experience Power plant or EH&S experience

Required Must demonstrate familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Required Knowledge of EH&S regulations as well as experience working with regulatory agencies. Preferred3-5 years Supervisory and/or managerial experience. Preferred Prior experience in a power plant or other similar industry. Preferred

 Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.Position requires extensive walking, stair and ladder climbing.Must be physically able to wear a respirator and work in difficult environments (heat, noise and confined spaces). |
