IT Technician Surveillance Systems We are seeking a skilled and reliable IT Technician Surveillance Systems to join our Business Technology team. This is a technology-focused IT security role responsible for Silgan's enterprise surveillance and electronic access control systems. This position focuses on IT infrastructure, network-connected surveillance platforms, and access control technologies including CCTV systems, DVR/NVR platforms, and integrated door access systems. This is a hands-on technical IT position managing the systems, networks, and technology that protect Silgan's facilities and operations. The role combines hands-on technical work with project coordination, ensuring our surveillance and access control systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable across multiple locations. What You Will Do
- Provide technical leadership and maintenance for Silgan's enterprise surveillance and electronic access control systems across multiple facilities.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute IT projects for physical security including network configuration, device setup, security software customization.
- Oversee and troubleshoot as needed DVRs, NVRs, cameras, monitoring systems, multiplexers, switchers, and related hardware.
- Configure, manage, and maintain electronic access control systems across Silgan facilities.
- Administer and maintain access control technologies including Kantech EntraPass, Virtual Keypad, Keri, CCure, Paxton, and Premisys.
- Manage and maintain video surveillance platforms such as ExacqVision, Axis Communications, and Speco.
- Interpret technical drawings and engineering plans to ensure system accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and system integrators for maintenance, upgrades, and equipment procurement.
- Perform hardware and software installations, updates, and integrations with existing IT systems.
- Evaluate and monitor network connectivity, storage, and power infrastructure to maintain operational performance of surveillance systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain system uptime and reliability.
- Maintain detailed documentation, drawings, and standards for system configuration and troubleshooting.
- Track system performance metrics, uptime standards, and compliance with internal policies and safety guidelines.
What You Need to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Five or more years of experience overseeing IT based surveillance systems, CCTV platforms, or electronic access control technologies.
- Experience with networking, system integration, and Windows environments including virtual machines.
- Hands on experience with enterprise surveillance and access control technologies.
- Familiarity with leading platforms such as Kantech EntraPass, Virtual Keypad, Keri, CCure, Paxton, Premisys, ExacqVision, Axis Communications, and Speco.
- Proficiency with project coordination and technical implementation.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage system installation, camera infrastructure, and cabling environments.
- Knowledge of architectural and control requirements for door security systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities and a customer service mindset.
