Job Title: Quality Auditor

Job Summary
The Quality Auditor monitors materials, parts, and finished products to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards. This role performs audits, inspections, testing, and data analysis to verify adherence to specifications and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Auditor assists supervisors and managers with quality concerns, contributes to the development of quality documentation, and ensures compliance with ISO, Lean Six Sigma, and customer requirements. Job Responsibilities
Conduct audits of materials, stamped parts, and laminations to ensure compliance with specifications.
Obtain and evaluate samples from raw materials, in-process products, and outgoing shipments to verify adherence to standards.
Perform Epstein testing on raw materials and assist in furnace monitoring.
Support the development of processes, control plans, and work instructions.
Operate precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, and dial indicators.
Learn and apply programming for Video Measuring Machines (VMM) and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Perform basic statistical analysis and laboratory procedures including calibration and metallographic analysis.
Record and monitor non-conforming materials using the Access database and support rework activities.
Conduct First Article Inspections and participate in internal ISO audit programs.
Collaborate with supervisors, tool room personnel, and team members to address daily quality concerns.
Participate in continuous improvement activities and maintain Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
Obtain ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification within two years of starting the position.
Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory quality requirements.
Job Requirements
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting precision measurement equipment.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer knowledge including database and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as required.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for training or audits.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Additional coursework or certification in quality control, metrology, or manufacturing preferred.
Work Experience
Previous experience in manufacturing quality auditing or inspection preferred.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean Six Sigma, or ASQ standards desirable.
Essential Functions
Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.
Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
Perform repetitive motions including gripping, pushing, pulling, bending, and occasional overhead reaching.
Stand and/or walk for extended periods during shifts.
Operate hand and power tools, hoists, lift tables, and pallet jacks safely.
Read and interpret blueprints and precision measurement data accurately.
Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality, including overtime and weekend availability when required.
Additional Job Details
Positions Available: One (1) 1st Shift and One (1) 3rd Shift.
Employment Type: Full-time, on-site.
Training Provided: CMM/VMM operation, defect reporting, and quality documentation.
Certifications Required: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) within two years of hire.
