Position Description

This position is responsible for the engineering, implementation, and validation of electric components and smart electronic products for electric vehicle thermal systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and validate new or modified electrical components for Modine Thermal Management Systems products.
  • Design and/or analyze printed circuit boards (PCB), including component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and design for manufacturability and testability.
  • Develop embedded firmware for electrical control and communication while conforming to industry standards for code quality, testing, and functional safety.
  • Develop and maintain internal design and engineering specifications for electrical and electromechanical components.
  • Participate in design meetings and communicate with supervisor, section manager, program manager, other engineers regarding product design and other issues.
  • Participate in all phases of a project, from concept to production, following and utilizing the APQP process.
  • Complete projects within allocated budget to meet Modine's quality and performance requirements.
  • Create test plans and perform validation on new or modified components and systems to verify functionality, performance, reliability, and conformance to relevant industry standards.
  • Support electrical laboratory functions, e.g. testing, documentation, training.
  • Support troubleshooting of electrical components for Modine Thermal Management Systems products.
  • Diagnose and repair failures as needed following the 8D process.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • 5+ years experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be results-oriented with excellent analytical, planning, organization, and execution skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate some level of proficiency in circuit design and embedded programming
  • Must be able to demonstrate some level of programming proficiency. Experience in C, C++, and/or Python languages is preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain and/or complete required training programs as part of role development
