The current hiring range for this position is: $67,000-$95,000.

Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

Our services include special education, vocational training, supported employment, structured day programs, group home and apartment programs both on-campus and in the community, short-term behavioral stabilization services for children, and in-home and outpatient rehabilitation services.

As a nonprofit organization, we are solely committed to supporting people with special needs and their families, to help make it One World. For Everyone. Bancroft is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Lindens Behavioral Stablization Unit in Mt Laurel NJ.

The Lindens Center is one of the most innovative behavioral therapy and residential programs of its kind in the nation. Here, we draw upon our leading expertise, best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis, a home-like setting, and a team approach to help children enjoy significant quality of life improvements. We provides care to children and adolescents with acute behavioral challenges.



Responsibilities

Position Summary:


Plans and implements classroom instruction, specializing within one or more areas of curriculum, to specifically meet the educational needs of students and to encourage the best possible student educational experience.

    Assesses abilities and capabilities of individual students; develops, organizes, and implements lesson plans and activities that are individual-specific, meet the learning needs of each student, encourage increased skills, and address specific IEP goals
  • Monitors existing IEPs to ensure that stated educational goals and objectives are appropriate, achievable, and continue to meet the educational needs of individual students
  • Recommends appropriate modifications to the existing IEP
  • May conduct parent training in the classroom and at home
  • Utilize the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis throughout observation, intervention, data collection, and assessment


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and eligibility for formal certification such as N.J. Teacher of Disabilities (or of the Handicapped) required.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience in special education preferred
  • Eligibility for Highly-Qualified Teacher status required.
  • Knowledge of teaching methods and educational programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavior disabilities.
  • Effective teaching and facilitation skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills required
