The Wertheim Laboratory in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) and Harvard Medical School (HMS) is seeking interested MD, MBBS, or PhD graduates for a post-doctoral research fellowship. We study pulmonary vascular diseases of high unmet clinical need, including pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism. A thematic area of interest includes the relationship between endothelial cell dysfunction, vascular inflammation, and extracellular matrix biology in pulmonary arterial hypertension and connective tissue diseases. We apply a systems biology framework, often using networks and other in silico approaches to derive novel biological predictions-and then we aim to test these predictions using a range of experimental techniques in vitro and in vivo.
