The Role

Amphenol Military Aerospace Operations (AMAO) Group is seeking a Standards Integration Lead to act as a focal point for technical standards (MOSA, SOSA, VITA, and related open architectures). This role entails keeping colleagues both informed and strategically aligned with evolving standards, enabling us to integrate more deeply into customer and end-user ecosystems and secure competitive advantage.

The key responsibilities of this Standards Integration Lead include, but are not limited to:



  • Standards Engagement

    • Actively participate in relevant MOSA, SOSA, VITA, and related standards committees and working groups.
    • Represent Amphenol's interests, advocate for positions aligned with our business and technology roadmap.
    • Provide timely feedback and intelligence regarding standardization trends, risks, and opportunities.


  • Internal Integration & Guidance

    • Serve as the group-wide subject matter expert (SME) for open-architecture standards.
    • Develop and maintain a knowledge-sharing process across Amphenol businesses.
    • Support engineering and business development teams in interpreting and applying standards to product design, proposals, and customer engagements.
    • Lead and guide our Open.Tech platform maintenance, development and promotion


  • Business Enablement

    • Help position Amphenol products (connectors, BLP, harnesses, RF, fiber, high-power, EMI-filtered, etc.) for compliance with emerging open-architecture requirements.
    • Provide input to product roadmaps and marketing materials to ensure alignment with MOSA/SOSA/VITA adoption.
    • Identify opportunities for Amphenol to lead, influence, or follow standards evolution.
    • Coordinate Open.Tech trade show presence at standard focused shows.


  • Strategic Advisory

    • Track competitor involvement and influence in standards bodies; assess potential threats or opportunities.
    • Advise senior leadership on standards-related implications for major programs.
    • Support capture efforts by translating standards requirements into Amphenol value propositions.


  • Reporting & Communication

    • Provide quarterly reports and briefings to leadership on standards progress, changes, and emerging themes.
    • Maintain a "living library" of relevant standards documents and updates.
    • Assist in coordination of Open.Tech lead generation and follow-up.




The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Standards Integration Lead at Amphenol Military and Aerospace Operations:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree (M.S. or M.B.A.) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in defense, aerospace, or interconnect industries, with at least 5 years in standards development, systems integration, or technical business development.
  • Must be a U.S. Person capable of obtaining a DoD security clearance if required.
  • Travel (up to 25%) to Amphenol sites, customer locations, or standards committee meetings required.
  • Direct participation in or exposure to SOSA/VITA/MOSA working groups, NDIA, or IEEE standards committees strongly desired.
  • Deep understanding of MOSA, SOSA, VITA, FACE, and other open-architecture frameworks and their impact on military and aerospace systems integration.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, open-architecture mandates, and systems-engineering frameworks beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to engage engineers, business-development leaders, and executives.
