Job Summary Help launch and shape the future of inpatient oncology care at Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute. This is an exciting opportunity to join our inaugural Hematology Oncology Inpatient Service at Brigham and Women's Hospital as an Inpatient Responding Clinician, caring for patients during some of the most critical moments in their cancer journey.We are seeking compassionate, highly motivated Physician Assistants to join Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute's Inpatient Service at BWH. As a Physician Assistant, you will be a key member of the inpatient care team, providing thoughtful assessment, clinical management, and ongoing support for medical and surgical oncology patients. In this role, you will contribute to diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making, develop individualized plans of care, and partner closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care, counseling, and education to a designated inpatient oncology population. Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations to support timely clinical assessment and care planning. Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic studies to guide clinical decision-making. Develop and implement individualized plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic results, physical examination findings, and patient needs. Prescribe medications and manage treatments in accordance with organizational policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements. Complete accurate, timely, and high-quality documentation, including admission notes, progress notes, procedure notes, and discharge summaries. Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population, scope of practice, and clinical setting. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary colleagues to coordinate care and support safe transitions throughout the inpatient stay.
