Position Summary / Department Summary: The Manager of Network Engineering is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the hospital's IT network infrastructure. This role ensures that all network systems, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, are reliable, secure, and efficient. The Manager leads a team of senior network engineers, manages network performance, troubleshoots issues, and implements upgrades and improvements to support hospital operations. This role works closely with IT staff, clinical departments, and administrative teams to support clinical and administrative functions, ultimately contributing to the hospital's mission of providing high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5-6 senior network engineers, balancing technical expertise with setting priorities and driving accountability.
Design, implement, and maintain robust LAN, WAN, and wireless network solutions to ensure scalability, redundancy, and high availability.
Direct network infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations, network expansions, and modernization initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Develop and implement network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection, VPNs, and segmentation, ensuring HIPAA and regulatory compliance.
Manage vendor, consultant, and service provider relationships, overseeing contracts and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree required in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering)
Experience:
Hands-on experience with LAN, WAN, wireless networks, cloud infrastructure, and network security technologies
Proven track record of leading network projects, including upgrades, expansions, and cloud migrations
