Our Georgia-Pacific facility in Palatka, FL is seeking a Shipping Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity to start your career with a growing business! Team members will start their career in our Shipping department.
Our Team
The Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in coordinating shipping logistics, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting operational continuity within the Logistics Department. This is a Monday through Friday, 8 hour day shift position.
Starting hourly rate of $21.19 per hour with a competitive benefits package.
What You Will Do in Your Role
Chemical Inventory Management:
* Monitor methanol tank levels daily and schedule timely deliveries to prevent supply
disruptions.
* Update chemical spreadsheets with CTO, IFF chemical, and soap ticket data from FileNet
reports.
Trailer & Rail Logistics:
* Review daily scrap loose broke/KD reports and assign empty trailers for vital supplies and
core handlers.
* Process Kraft rail loads and empty railcar release forms; retrieve and distribute waybill
information.
* Assign trailers and build loads in TOPS for MF, vital supplies, and 3rd-party shipments.
* Bill CSX for Tall Oil shipments and generate monthly MF load reports.
Documentation & Customs Processing:
* Receive and process gate passes, BOLs, and customs paperwork for Tijuana, DRS, and Rincon loads.
* Scan, copy, and distribute customs invoices, manifests, and related documents.
* Maintain organized storage of BOLs and shipping records.
Shipping Coordination:
* Process Ship Quality shipments including softness samples, audit samples, and
unfinished products.
* Order and maintain shipping supplies (boxes, tape, labels) and ensure proper storage.
Administrative Support:
* Maintain TS employee contact lists and annual seniority shift preference records.
* Order and stock office supplies; ensure First Aid cabinet is replenished by Cintas.
* Attend daily DDS meetings and support RIM process implementation.
* Add and update approved carrier lists and distribute inspection documentation.
* Shipping department receiving documents allocations
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED
* Organizational and multitasking experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
What Will Put You Ahead
* Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or inventory coordination
* Experience with TOPS, FileNet, and SAP systems
* Experience with customs documentation and carrier coordination
* Knowledge of chemical inventory tracking and rail billing processes
* Previous experience in manufacturing or mill environment
