The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Assistant to the Executive Director for our partner organization UpReach Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Goffstown, NH. This is an exciting opportunity for a student to have direct hands-on learning experience serving as the Assistant to the Executive Director. The student will be involved in many aspects of the organization's functions. The opportunity represents the organization at a variety of events, creating connections with the community and experience the vitality of that connection for nonprofit growth and sustainability. Students will learn first-hand the challenges, successes, and rewards of working at a nonprofit organization.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with various areas of nonprofit management, including, but not limited to:

  • Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Public Relations
  • Special Events
  • Risk Management
  • Insurance
  • Program Evaluation and Development
  • Finance - short and long term planning

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Reliable transportation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Maintain professionalism
  • Process a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in nonprofit-small business administration

Learning Outcomes:

  • Student will learn firsthand challenges, successes, and rewards of working at a nonprofit organization

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, flexible schedule

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
