SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

This position is primarily responsible for managing the Bank's Credit Administration and Operations function through Credit Loan Policy, Training, and Complaint Management. In conjunction with SSB Credit Leadership, this position will formulate Commercial credit policies, standards and procedures to positively influence the overall quality of the lending portfolio within risk appetite. The Sr. Credit Administration Officer must be well-versed in sound lending principles, the Bank's loan policy, and current Federal and state laws and regulations. This Leader must be able to work well with all levels in the organization and build strong relationships with stakeholders. The role will require a skill set that balances operational requirements with lending knowledge, and technical skills. Proactive identification and communication of ideas for improving the credit administration process, including the use of technology, is expected of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This position is expected to perform the duties, tasks, and responsibilities as outlined below:

Commercial Loan Policy Management:

  • The individual primarily responsible for managing the Bank's Loan Policy;
  • Coordinates Loan Policy Team meetings;
  • Collects necessary or recommend Loan Policy edits;
  • Implements recommended changes into Loan Policy for approval by the Board or its designated committee;
  • Coordinates communication efforts for changes to Loan Policy;
  • Researches formats or tools to improve Loan Policy functionality and adoption.
  • Acts as a primary resource for Credit Officers, Commercial Portfolio Managers and Credit Analysts with regards to credit policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Drive strict compliance with the Bank's policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines

Complaint Management:

  • Serves as Credit Administration's designated Complaint Management contact;
  • Ensures complaints are resolved in a timely fashion;
  • Coordinates the necessary individuals to ensure timely complaint resolution.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Works with the Director of Credit Administration and/or the Chief Credit Officer on projects with Credit Administration which could include risk grading, development of procedure documents, development of guidance documents, integration projects, etc.
  • Continuously update skills through Bank and third-party training
  • Complete performance reviews, promotions, verbal and written corrections
  • Drive Bank Culture in the Credit Administration Team
  • Conduct periodic goal setting meetings with team
  • Accepts other duties as assigned including special presentations and projects as assigned

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Requires bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field; Graduation from a recognized school of banking and/or business-related graduate degrees are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, business banking, and portfolio management. Familiarity with loan structuring and loan documentation is required.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Must have a strong knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and Bank policies related to lending procedures commensurate with experience requirements.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training; New Employee Orientation; other training as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk. This position may require bending and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position is located inside a cooled and heated facility with the ability to go to a break room or rest room during breaks.

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered. Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
