PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and preparing accounting documents for the company's Retail Divisions. Ensures day to day accounting procedures and records are maintained and managed according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company specific guidelines.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHP

Ensures all Staff Accountants and Accounts Payable Supervisors are following processes and procedures. Provides training for new or existing employees. May require supervising Staff Accountants and Accounts Payable Supervisors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Recommends and directs the administration of generally accepted accounting principles for the GROWMARK Retail Divisions.

Assist Director or Accounting Mgr with leading Staff Accountants. Also provide assistance to Staff Accountants while on PTO.

Works with Director on monthly financial review. This includes product gross margin, general ledger, fixed assets, and expenses.

Prepares financial reports which summarize and forecast Retail Division business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.

Works with Accounting Manager and Business Manager on designing and maintaining reporting templates.

Reconciles general ledger accounts and determines proper handling of financial transactions.

Assists in analysis of financial information, preparation of income statements, and other reports to summarize current and project future company financial position.

Reviews, investigates, and troubleshoots errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, general ledger, documents, and reports. Provides guidance and steps for correcting issues.

Produces reports and provides assistance with reporting needs to support the Retail Divisions, internal audit and the budgeting process.

Assists and trains Retail Division staff on company accounting guidelines and requirements and ensures procedures are followed. Updates and maintains business processes and procedures.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Responsible for encouraging, supporting, and promoting innovative practices, ideas, and technologies within the team.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 5 years experience in accounting or finance or related area to demonstrate financial leadership in the areas of risk analysis, cost/benefit analysis, internal controls, auditing, and budgeting.

A CPA and / or MBA is preferred.

Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK System financing, operations and taxation.

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Must be able to travel independently and overnight.

Must be able to work hours beyond those considered normal.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
