The Community Liaison is accountable for building and maintaining positive relationships between WPS and the communities it serves to promote the health plan's mission, services, and brand image. Key responsibilities for this part-time position include prioritizing and representing WPS at community events across the state, developing and managing community partnerships, analyzing community needs and sentiment, and supporting community health initiatives.
Hourly Pay Range
$60.00-$75.00 per hour
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you'll do in this role:
- Community Outreach, Education, Engagement and Representation
- Identify new partners and areas of opportunity to promote the health plan's mission, services, and brand image.
- Prioritize and attend community events, health fairs, etc. to promote the health plan's services, connect with potential members, and foster partnerships with other organizations, both public and private. Provide information about WPS programs and educate the community on health-related issues.
- Act as a liaison between the health plan and the community. Engage with communities to understand their needs and promote awareness of WPS's initiatives.
- Relationship Building and Partnership Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and
- Assist with the coordination of sponsorships, donations, and partnerships with community groups to foster collaboration and support local initiatives.
- Strategy and Innovation
- Assist with the development of innovative strategies and programs that align the health plan's goals with community needs, ensuring that both parties benefit from the relationship.
- Goal Setting
- Establish clear goals and key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the strategies and tactics being pursued.
- Measure performance and adjust activities as necessary to achieve organizational goals.
- WPS Team Mentoring
- Assess the strategies, business activities and skills of external-facing WPS teams to optimize their approach and performance.
- Mentor and provide guidance to WPS's external-facing team members to help them develop new skills, increase their confidence, support their professional development, and work towards their career goals.
- Offer guidance on existing opportunities/challenges to improve team performance and accelerate growth.
- Community Impact Reporting
- Assist with monitoring community trends and feedback, analyzing data from outreach activities, and preparing reports on community relations efforts.
- Cross-functional Collaboration/Coordination
- Work with other departments, such as marketing and compliance, to ensure community relations efforts align with organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field; or 6 or more years of equivalent work experience at a senior level.
- 5 or more years of direct supervisory/management experience.
- In-depth knowledge of community organizations; strong ability to understand and respond to the needs and concerns of community members.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to effectively represent the health plan to diverse audiences and community stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to foster meaningful relationships and influence organizations to achieve organizational goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address community issues and find solutions that benefit both parties.
- Understanding of how to set, measure, and adjust organizational metrics/key performance indicators.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize work, and get things done.
- Ability to identify, prioritize and drive opportunities to achieve desired goals.
- Working knowledge of the challenges facing the broader healthcare industry.
