POSITION OVERVIEW

We are excited to welcome the La Tiara taco shell and seasoning brand to the General Mills family of brands!We believe the La Tiara brand will serve as another competitive Mexican brand alongside Old El Paso. We've seen significant customer demand with this brand, which provides a meaningful opportunity to grow our Mexican Business (NAR Accelerator) while also driving competitiveness in the category. La Tiara will operate within the NAR Mexican BU.

The Department Maintenance & Reliability Manager will provide safety and maintenance leadership to advance the culture and performance at the Gladstone Plant. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to start up an acquired facility and build Maintenance & Reliability strategy from scratch and see that strategy deliver for plant success. The primary responsibilities will be to develop, implement, and support execution of a maintenance program while leading and building capability in the site maintenance team. The Department Maintenance & Reliability Manager will require flexibility to support the overnight and weekend operations at the site. Success in this role will require an individual who is energized by hands-on and tactical activities within their accountability, as well as the strategic and leadership opportunities presented by being a part of a small plant leadership team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Guide, educate, coach, develop and motivate maintenance team members (4 direct reports) to achieve human safety, food safety, and production results
  • Develop maintenance personnel by providing coaching, support, direction, documented performance appraisals, and ongoing feedback
  • Develop, implement, and own site Planned Maintenance systems and asset care strategies for all site assets - production, facilities and utilities equipment
  • Track and report maintenance measurement data
  • Execution of small capital improvement projects
  • Manage maintenance and capital budgets
  • Identify recurring maintenance problems-- recommend and execute solutions
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of equipment failure history and life cycle cost
  • Manage daily scheduling and effective resource allocation/prioritization including labor, repair parts, and outside services
  • Ensure PMs and WOs are executed safely and with appropriate quality
  • Parts and services cost monitoring and improvements
  • Management of contractors and vendors
  • Collaborate with Corporate Engineering and across the site to drive standardization and alignment
  • Assume ownership for strategic initiatives and tactical duties as assigned
  • Understand core mechanical technologies, including fasteners, lubrication, drives, transmission, motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, & electrical/controls
  • Review daily operational performance reports and maintain system capabilities and rates
  • Ensure effective interchange of information between Maintenance department and support resources at the plant and within GMI
  • Foster a strong working partnership with all functions to support plant objectives
  • Create an environment where all employees are encouraged & developed to reach their full potential in meeting department/business goals
  • Provide business leadership that demonstrates commitment to plant goals on a day to day basis
  • Ensure the proper selection, training, development and motivation of the team to maximize current and future performance
  • Model the Company and Plant's Behaviors and Values
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related degree with applicable experience or extensive relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology and ability to create solutions to technical challenges
  • Budget management and small capital project management experience
  • Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
  • Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to plan, lead, and execute strategic initiatives in a lean environment
  • Mature approach to challenging situations and environments
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with the floor including building positive employee relations
  • Solid business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong coaching skills and ability to deliver effective feedback and resolve conflic

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of manufacturing & maintenance experience
  • Previous Team Leader Experience
  • Facilities System Knowledge

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $81000.00 - $121700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
