The Role:

The Director, Supply Management and Integrated Planning is responsible for providing strategic leadership across global supply chain, purchasing, logistics, and planning functions. This role ensures supplier performance, sourcing strategies, inventory optimization, and logistics practices align with organizational goals and global standards. The Director drives continuous improvement and integrated planning processes to reduce total costs, strengthen supplier partnerships, and support growth initiatives across multiple sites worldwide.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic global direction to procurement, supply planning, and inventory control, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and policies.
  • Oversee supplier quality and development, material requirements planning (MRP), low-cost country sourcing, localization, procurement and outsourcing, vendor selection, and global logistics.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies leveraging total company spend to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate and manage global pricing agreements to ensure consistency and competitiveness across all sites.
  • Implement best practices to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and optimize working capital throughout the supply chain.
  • Analyze market trends and commodity conditions to anticipate pricing, availability, and lead-time shifts on critical materials.
  • Drive systematic replenishment and integrated planning to support accurate sales forecasts and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to align supply management with demand trends and customer requirements.
  • Negotiate and maintain competitive freight and logistics agreements, including North American and international practices.
  • Monitor, review, and approve freight expenses outside approved carriers and/or services to ensure cost control.
  • Lead and support ERP/MRP implementation and management to ensure visibility, integration, and consistency across the global supply chain.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and change adoption throughout supply management and planning functions.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Integrated Planning in a multi-site or global manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP systems with expertise in Lean practices and supply chain optimization.
  • APICS or ISM certification preferred (CPIM, CPM, CIRM).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with proven ability to develop strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and build trust across global teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools; JD Edwards experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced environment, balancing tactical execution with strategic vision.
  • Travel: Up to 20%
  • Must reside within a commutable distance to Pittsburgh, PA, LaVergne, TN, Ogden, UT, or Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
