Research Analyst II - Center for Advanced Hindsight

At Duke University's Center for Advanced Hindsight (CAH), we explore the fascinating world of behavioral economics to help people lead better, more sensible lives. Our team includes researchers, post-doctoral students, interns, volunteers, and staff from around the globe. We manage $6 million in grants, collaborate with over 30 organizations through the Common Cents Lab, and have incubated nine start-up companies.

We're looking for a Research Analyst II to join our dynamic team. This is a grant-funded, one-year contract position with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance.



What You'll Do

Lead Research Studies (35%)

* Conduct literature reviews and generate hypotheses

* Design and field studies with fidelity

* Analyze data and draw conclusions with guidance

* Draft manuscripts for academic and popular publication

* Write IRB applications

Support Research Studies (35%)

* Program studies in Qualtrics

* Create study materials (e.g., mailers, prompts, emails, SMS copy)

* Develop research protocols

* Train experimenters and coordinators

Manage Relationships (15%)

* Collaborate with partners and sponsors to implement studies

* Identify new research opportunities

* Ensure expectations are met and provide training on behavioral science

Project Management (15%)

* Schedule and deliver project components on time

* Document meetings and maintain project records


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a social science or related field

* 3-6 years of research experience post-bachelor's

* Must reside in North Carolina

* Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

* Must adhere to CAH's hybrid work policy: 3 days/week in the office

* Occasional domestic travel may be required

* Familiarity with research processes and basic statistics

* Strong understanding of behavioral science principles

* Excellent communication skills

* Self-motivated and detail-oriented

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills

* Adaptable and organized

* Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred

* Leadership experience in college

* Project management experience

* Personal hobbies or interests
