This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in-office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The eCommerce Copywriter II works closely with the team to deliver marketing storytelling and a compelling site and email experience for Columbia Sportswear Company. They will also help implement digital initiatives including personalization, down-funnel brand campaigns, site promotions, email, SMS, SEO, loyalty, social, and shared multichannel projects.

The eCommerce Copywriter II will also research products to craft accurate branded copy that promotes product features, benefits, and technologies while developing workflow tools and channel-right messaging to increase engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction.

  • Writes and reviews engaging and concise marketing copy with an understanding of brand voice, down-funnel priorities, promotions, email, loyalty, SMS, UX, PDP, AP Style, and SEO principles. Presents creative concepts and incorporates feedback.

  • Writes and reviews engaging copy with an understanding of brand voice, promotions, AP style, and SEO principles to align content with best practices and brand standards. Develops and maintains copy style guides.

  • Ensures copy reflects accurate and engaging descriptions that promote features, benefits, and innovative technologies.

  • Crafts clear, concise, conversational, on-brand messages that enhance the user journey and encourage specific calls to action.

  • Works with stakeholders to develop and hone copy and concepts to meet business needs including improved messaging, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Supports research of business needs and industry trends along with leveraging user testing to help write customer-focused copy that enhances user experience.

  • Crafts accurate, engaging, and personalized product storytelling that promotes product features, benefits, and technologies.

  • Audits and edits content, writes ADA alt text, and performs routine (QC) quality checks.

  • Develops and maintains style guides to align with best practices and brand standards.

  • Researches products and technologies, incorporates industry trends and user testing.

YOU ARE

  • Able to develop creative ideas that work across channels.

  • Aware and knowledgeable of social media trends.

  • Experienced at creating digital content.

  • An excellent communicator with skills to establish positive working relationships across various levels and fields of expertise.

YOUHAVE

  • Bachelor's degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience.

  • 2-4 years of professional experience in a Copywriting function.

  • Product or Agency experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Experience creating digital, print, video content.

  • Basic understanding of site systems, Emarsys email, and HTML

  • Understanding of SEO, UX, ADA alt text.

  • Eagerness to adopt new applications, AI tools, and working methods.

  • Ability to distill complex ideas into simple, clear and resonant expressions.

  • Ability to problem-solve, working through the corporate matrix.
