Description

MISO is seeking a Product Owner II to help shape the future of how we manage the electrical grid. This role will support the evolution of a suite of applications used by operators to balance energy and ensure grid reliability. As we transition from a project-based to a product operating model, we're looking for someone who's energized by the opportunity to build structure, advocate for user value, and help define what great product ownership looks like in a complex, evolving environment.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders to align customer needs, business outcomes, and industry trends-and use user feedback, product metrics, and research insights to guide product direction. This is a hands-on role that requires curiosity, resilience, and a passion for continuous improvement.

What you'll do as MISO's Product Owner II:



  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with the product team, our vendor partners, users and other stakeholders.
  • Understand business needs and turn them into clear priorities for the team.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with strategic goals
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog for the product team to maximize user value and outcomes
  • Define business value and requirements in partnership with subject matter experts to reduce rework and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Communicate progress, outcomes and evolving priorities to stakeholders


Experience/Qualifications we are looking for as our Product Owner II:



  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, (or 4 years relevant work experience equivalency); 3-6 years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, systems engineering or related experience.
  • Experience shaping and driving product vision and roadmaps
  • Strong servant leadership skills with the ability to facilitate collaboration, resolve conflicts, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of software development concepts and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with user experience best practices and translating business needs into effective solutions
  • Energy industry experience is a plus.
  • Preferred/nice to have (not required): Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager AND/OR PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $134,000 - $154,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
