Hybrid - Buffalo, NY Moog, Inc.is the world-wide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for commercial and military aircraft and other military platforms. We are positioned on virtually every aircraft flying today, supplying highly reliable systems that are supportable and add significant value for our customers. Our Commercial Aircraft Group is looking for an Aftermarket Contracts Managerto join them. You will report to the Senior Aftermarket Contracts Manager and will have a hybrid onsite/virtual work schedule in either our East Aurora, NY or Torrance, CA location. To be considered for the Aftermarket Contracts Manager role, you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor
  • A minimum of 5 years of contracts experience, including contract negotiating and advanced legal drafting.
  • A basic understanding of international transactional principles such as export licensing, imports, INCOTERMS, VAT, tariffs, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft creative solutions to unique business problems in a collaborative environment.
  • Membership in a state bar is highly desirable.
As an Aftermarket Contract Manager, you will:
  • Provide legal support to the Commercial Aircraft Group's global Commercial Aftermarket team, engaging with customers and negotiating customer contracts that maximize product provision and repair services, protect operational performance and comply with Airframer and OEM product support requirements. This support includes reviewing proposed customer contracts, responses to RFPs, customer licenses, drafting contractual language and leading contract negotiations.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to highly-charged, ambiguous situations, with limited opportunity for research or consultation. These situations may involve potential disputes with customers. You and the Aftermarket Contracts team will be focused on developing and executing strategies based on accumulated knowledge and experience with similar situations.
  • Develop and maintain a variety of contract templates including Customer Support Agreements, Standard Terms and Conditions of Service and other contract vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other Moog functional disciplines (Programs, Sales, Trade Compliance, Tax, Finance, etc.) in managing the application of contracts to program execution in the aftermarket, negotiating and settling customer claims and applying complex aspects of international transactions including: intellectual property rights, VAT and tax/tariff implications, INCOTERMS, letters of credit, offset programs and export and import compliance.
  • Train aftermarket personnel on Moog agreements, commercial terms and conditions, Moog procedures, change management, risk management (including maintaining documentation related to potential customer claims, disputes and litigation), contract provision evaluation, contractual drafting, and contract negotiations.
  • Provide global support which may entail working off-hours to accommodate meetings/calls with other time zones.
  • Occasionally travel internationally and/or domestically.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $100,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
