Senior Design Technologist Job Description: Play a multidisciplinary role in improving user experience and software development for healthcare projects by integrating user research, design, and engineering. Conduct design research to identify UX enhancements and scope UX contributions within project constraints. Responsibilities include creating visual sketches, storyboards, and mockups, as well as developing low and high-fidelity prototypes to refine designs before implementation. Facilitate brainstorming and data analysis sessions, document design decisions, and produce design specifications to guide the software development process. Manage the full software development lifecycle, from breaking down projects and estimating timelines to selecting appropriate technologies and implementing system specifications. Create database schemas, define data transfer requirements, and introduce new tools, frameworks, and languages as needed. Write writing unit and integration tests, debug regressions, and ensure adherence to coding standards through code reviews. Work closely with stakeholders to define technical system requirements, provide project updates, and align software solutions with the Institute's mission. Translate UX mockups into functional development prototypes, model system behaviors, and incorporate third-party libraries to improve productivity. Provision and maintain secure, HIPAA-compliant test and production environments, configuring databases and server software, and supporting web, server, mobile application projects, and occasionally physical products. Ensuring feasibility within technology constraints, tailor interaction designs using widely recognized design patterns to simplify development and improve usability. Contribute to knowledge-sharing and documentation efforts, creating user guides, walkthrough videos, and internal technical documentation.
