Overview

As someone with knowledge of software development, you have strong problem-solving skills. While working on complex challenges, you pursue elegant solutions. You understand that simplifying an application workflow leads to better results. You'll contribute to new functionality of our core business productivity systems. These systems are widely used at Esri enabling you to have a broad impact.

Responsibilities



  • Collaborate closely with security engineers and development teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve security findings
  • Utilize GitHub security tools, including CodeQL, Dependbot, and Security Scanning, to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Work with clients to gather and understand business needs and requirements, document those requirements, and create functional prototypes to address them
  • Use your coding and problem-solving skills to architect, develop and support to deliver impactful solutions to Esri
  • Coordinate with others across the organization to build fully integrated systems
  • Participate in code and security reviews
  • Create unit test plans and develop integration tests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve varying levels of technical issues
  • Add value by being current with new trends and frameworks within the JavaScript community
  • Partner with business analysts and product owners to provide a best-in-class customer experience


Requirements



  • 1+ years of experience with JavaScript
  • CSS and HTML experience
  • Angular/React, Node.js and Python experience
  • Ability to apply functional programming principles
  • Experience querying relational and NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB
  • REST APIs for extending existing systems
  • Experience with CI/CD systems
  • Knowledge of full SDLC and Agile development methodologies, application development life cycle, testing, performance tuning, and debugging
  • Approachable to enjoy regular meetings with a broad range of colleagues
  • Bachelor's in information systems, computer science, or related STEM field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Cloud Services familiarity will be helpful as many solutions leverage these types of environments
  • Experience with AWS services such as Simple Queue, Simple Notification, and Redis would also lower the learning curve
  • Strong understanding of defensive coding practices and vulnerability remediation
  • General understanding of various types of security tools (SCA, SAST, IAC, and more)
  • Familiarity with asynchronous and scalable service-oriented architectures
  • User interface design and usability expertise will help you with building prototypes
  • Experience with SaaS application back-office integration (SAP, Salesforce.com) would enable you to grow more quickly in the role
  • Experience developing with Java, HTML5, and CSS3 would increase your ability to have an impact
  • A comfort level with version control systems such as Git will make it easier to work in the shared development environment

$68,640 $107,120 USD
