Description
The Town of Erie is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate or graduate-level Civil Engineer Intern to join the Engineering division within the Public Works Department in the summer of 2026! This temporary, paid internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Civil Engineering while working under the guidance of experienced Engineering staff.The intern will support various projects, including construction support, attending project meetings, public engagement, program monitoring, and other engineering-related tasks. The internship is a temporary position that is expected to run from mid-May to mid-August 2026, with the potential for extension based on department needs. A minimum commitment of 20 hours per week is required, anticipated to be 40 hours per week. This position may require both office and/or field presence and may be eligible for college credit. All staff are expected to adhere to the Town's mission, vision and values of T.R.U.E. The anticipated start date will be in the month of May 2026
