Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Other duties may be assigned: Surface preparation (sanding, cleaning, etching, stripping old paint) Mixing and applying primers, topcoats, sealants, clear coats, etc. Masking off areas not to be painted on. Working in paint booths or paint hangars, often with controlled environment conditions. Inspecting thickness, finish quality, adhesion, and conformity to specifications (often mil-spec / aerospace standards) Maintaining safety protocols, protective gear, handling hazardous chemicals properly because many paint systems are toxic or volatile The finish is not just about cosmetics - the coating helps protect against corrosion, UV, environmental exposure, and can play a role in aerodynamic performance. Job Requirements Here's what requirements you'll need: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum 1 year of composites manufacturing experience. Minimum 1 year of experience reading blueprints, paint specifications, and engineering drawings. Minimum 1 year of experience with different types of coatings - epoxy, polyurethane, urethane, lacquer, etc. Minimum 1 year of experience with spray equipment, including HVLP, electrostatic application, or other specialized systems. Here's what sets you apart from other candidates that our clients prefer: Some years of experience in related painting or coating disciplines aerospace experience is preferred. Attention to detail, ability to follow precise procedures and safety rules.
