Your Job

The Engineering Automation Specialist is responsible for automating engineering processes, improving deliverable quality, reducing costs/waste, and facilitating the gathering of relevant data to share with our clients and internal business partners.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with engineering disciplines to understand processes to improve quality and productivity by using integrated tools and automation.
  • Collaborate with internal projects team to present options and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create implementation documentation for all process improvements and tools.
  • Focus on reducing waste and creating more efficiencies.
  • Practice economic thinking to determine cost valuation and benefit to business of proposed improvements.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies that will allow the business to continue to have a competitive advantage in the market.
  • Develop software strategy in collaboration with all departments and IT.
  • Operate within Koch's Principled Based AI Framework
  • Understand legal and compliance risk factors when using GenAI to generate code for the organization.
  • Continue to drive transformation of OPD's design and engineering capabilities that will allow us to create the greatest value for our clients.
  • CAD Admin backup.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • Experience working in CAD administration
    • Past experience working as a software developer or systems analyst
    • Intimate understanding of full life cycle engineering, procurement, and construction business model
    • Past experience as a manager or project lead role
    • Knowledge of ancillary disciplines processes like procurement, fabrication, construction, and logistics

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Past experience working in any other EPC related craft or discipline: Instrumentation & Electrical, Civil, Piping, field construction experience
    • Experience understanding contract language and how this impacts business functions
    • Past experience researching, developing, and implementing creative solutions
    • Knowledge of ASME 31.3 ASME 31.8, PIP, ASCE, AISC, and ACI specifications
