Overview
Be surrounded by great surgeons and a cohesive team in our Mercyhealth Walworth Operating Room. We have four OR Suites. We see a lot of Endoscopy, General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OB/Gynecology, and Pain patients. Our call rotations are 1 in 7 when fully staffed allowing for work life flexibility. We have onsite leadership to support you in your role. Furthermore, our staff have a passion for learning and thriving and conduct their own in-services. You may also have the opporunity to serve as an educator, nurturer, and role model for the Surgical Tech student roles by acting as a resource. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE Certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA preferred ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check , Credit Check or both (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check, IL Health Care Workers Background Check or both. Must be able to follow written, oral instructions. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occupational Exposure Category A - All partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to cold, hot, or wet conditions, fluoroscopic radiation, laser light, surgical smoke, and the risk of bloodborne pathogens. Required personal protection equipment (PPE) includes eye and face protection, impervious gown, shoe covers, head cover, gloves, and lead apron. SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or smell. The employee must regularly lift, move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
