MUST BE A RESIDENT IN THE STATE OF WISCONSIN OR WILLING TO RELOCATE. Position will have on-site requirements with the ability to work remotely. Applicants must be willing to commute to Madison as needed.



We are looking for a resourceful, passionate network engineer to manage, maintain and monitor our corporate network. You will work with other network engineers and data center employees and an array of business owners and outside partners.


The Sr. IT Network Engineer's responsibilities include proactively monitoring the integrity and optimization of network performance and providing high level technical support, innovative solutions, and integrated proposals for network systems.


In this role, you should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and strong instincts for problem-solving, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. You should also be willing to independently research technology outside of your current skill set and comfort zone. Knowing the answer is great, being able to find the answer is better.


Responsibilities




  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers and firewalls






  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.






  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement network-related projects.






  • Conduct regular network assessments and propose improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and security.






  • Ensure network documentation is up to date and accurately reflects the current network configuration.






  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance network efficiency and security.




Requirements




  • Proven work experience as a Network Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role






  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, etc.).






  • Hands-on experience with network equipment and tools from leading vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.).






  • Knowledge of network monitoring systems






  • Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices.






  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams




Preferred




  • Experience with Cisco networking equipment including modern firewalls





  • Experience with network Cisco ISE






  • Experience with configuring, maintaining Cisco DNA Center






  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
