Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our IT security team. This hands-on internship will provide exposure to enterprise-grade cybersecurity tools, network infrastructure, and security operations. You'll work closely with experienced professionals to support and enhance the organization's security posture across systems, networks, and endpoints. Essential Functions: Assist in deploying and managing virtual machines used for testing, development, and simulation of cyber threats. Support configuration and monitoring of Firewalls and central management for network security enforcement. Work with SIEM tools for log collection, event correlation, and alert tuning to identify potential threats. Participate in network design and implementation, including VLAN creation, segmentation, and physical network layout/configuration. Assist with Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GPO) management and troubleshooting. Support vulnerability remediation efforts by applying patches and coordinating with system owners. Contribute to monitoring and reporting using End Point Management Solutions and DLP policies for endpoint and data security. Help plan, create, and evaluate internal phishing campaigns to raise security awareness across the organization. Qualifications: A student enrolled in an accredited IT program in Jr. or Sr. status with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA with course work in software development/support Knowledge or MS Office applications Knowledge of several development languages Must be eligible to qualify for a security clearance Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, especially in a virtualized environment. Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching). Exposure to security tools and platforms, such as firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners. Understanding of Group Policy, Active Directory, and basic Windows domain infrastructure. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
