Job Summary

CDW Government's existing and potential contract portfolio includes agreements that facilitate significant revenue with strategic customers and with a high probability of winning given our relationship, potential, and incumbency.

The Capture Strategist role enables us to improve our position, influence, and win rate on strategic opportunities. This role primarily works on lighter effort and shorter timeline opportunities (Capture Sprints) and recompetes on existing contracts that are of strategic value to the business. This position requires proactive pursuit engagement to help secure critical existing business, empower our sellers, and enable our customers for success.
The Capture Strategist is expected to excel in contract, budget, and spend research; create and deliver meaningful summaries and presentation; and engage coworkers to help ensure progress against laborious and/or complex response deliverables prior to RFP solicitation.

What you will do

  • Proactive engagement with Sales, BD and Program Management to identify Capture opportunities and track recompetes
  • Research targeted customers and contracts to understand customer priorities, response requirements, and evaluation criteria and process
  • Conducts research analyses to identify competition, as well as solution gaps and areas of opportunity
  • Helps coordinate and contribute to response efforts for complex and/or tactical solicitation responses prior to release to help ensure we can meet customer requirements for an effective and timely response
  • Tracks RFP progress toward the drop date and immediately submits for resource assignment for response team upon RFP release
  • Leverages understanding of customers and contracts to develop impactful messaging including win themes and differentiators to be incorporated into RFP response
  • Helps ensure CDW Government's ability to address response requirements
  • Summarizes and communicates contract and customer research to capture team stakeholders
  • Assists sales with capture consulting efforts (records requests, understanding customer contract portfolios, unsolicited proposal efforts, etc.)
  • Formally transfers response strategy, intel, and activity to Proposals Team
  • Understands and becomes proficient with CDW tools - internal and external - to support progress and integration with sales. Examples include GovWin, GovSpend, Salesforce, etc.

What we expect of you

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR four years of relevant Business Development or Sales experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • History of balancing multiple time-sensitive priorities with the ability to adapt to changing workload priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong cross functional relationships
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Pay range: $ 55,000 - $ 71,000 depending on experience and skill set

Annual incentive plan subject to terms and conditions of plan
