The Project Executive is a senior leader responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of public-sector construction management projects in New York City. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this role provides strategic leadership across project execution, client relations, contract negotiations, financial oversight, and business development. The Project Executive serves as the primary client-facing leader, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with NYC procurement and MWBE and diversity requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Oversight: Provide executive-level direction across multiple high-value projects, ensuring alignment with firm objectives, client goals, and public-sector compliance requirements.
  • Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for senior client representatives, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, forecasts, and profitability for assigned projects; lead margin optimization, risk analysis, and financial reporting in collaboration with project controls.
  • Contract & Risk Management: Negotiate, review, and manage contracts with owners, consultants, and subcontractors; ensure compliance with AIA contract documents, NYC public procurement regulations, and MWBE goals.
  • Business Development: Partner with the VP and executive leadership to identify and pursue new public-sector opportunities, leveraging client relationships to support growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive project team performance, ensuring adherence to schedule, safety standards, quality metrics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and leadership to Project Managers and other senior staff, supporting talent development and succession planning within the firm.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record delivering public-sector projects in NYC (DDC, SCA, NYCHA, DEP, or similar agencies).
  • Strong knowledge of NYC procurement processes, MWBE and diversity compliance, prevailing wage, and public contract requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in client-facing leadership roles with the ability to develop long-term relationships.
  • Expertise in financial oversight, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, forecasting, and margin management.
  • Proficiency in construction management software: Primavera P6, Procore, CMiC, Textura, and similar platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
