Senior TechOps Engineer
Premier, Inc. seeks a Senior TechOps Engineer in Charlotte, NC. Duties: Utilize knowledge of infrastructure design to work closely with architects in server creation and on-going maintenance tasks. Utilize knowledge of features and upcoming releases to drive technology decisions, performance improvements, data protection, and mentor others. Provide direction on areas / products to investigate; weigh pros/ cons to recommend the go-forward path. Troubleshoot very complex issues using both experience and a proven series of steps. Assists all members of the team with troubleshooting issues. Identify issues ahead of time through monitoring and research to prevent escalations or member impact. Document steps taken and resolution for future use. Determine priorities for automation of server management and software deployment. Work with agile development teams. Utilize bug tracking tools/process. Take ownership of issues, research, and diagnose them. Retain Audit compliance while supporting development teams. Design and develop standards and the solutions to support them. Implement best practice techniques to engineer for performance and mitigate risk. Work with development teams to meet this goal. Actively seek technical debt to reduce; add debt reduction to team's workload. Understand basic Change Management principles, create standard changes when applicable, understand and prevent unauthorized changes. Work with team on possible standard changes for middleware maintenance tasks. Digest the vulnerabilities report, and schedule necessary upgrades and patches to mitigate. Include best practices and standards and provide guidance to Associates and Engineers on adjustments necessary for adherence to those same standards. Track work activities across multiple Associates or Engineers and understand how that work comes together. Clear verbal, visual and written communication. Responsible for communication to stakeholders, senior leadership or other departments on a routine basis. Shift between technical and lay-speak with ease, depending on audience. Expertly handle department-wide presentation or representing Premier in front of customers. Communication evidences a complete understanding of big-picture context. Works with Engineers and Architects to convey a thought and its rationale related to a strategic technical concept and how tactical work connects to that strategy. Influence outside sphere of project teams to include stakeholders or peers on other teams. Collaborate with Engineers and Architects to share ideas and design systems. Requires little oversight. Knows the value Premier provides its customers at a departmental level and how those products are used in a business context. Understands the role of Product Management in the organization and how it interacts with an Agile delivery team. Model use of relative estimation. Accurately estimate their current work, and work that is on the backlog or roadmap that has little-to-no design details. Actively participate in solution design and other discussions with the team and consistently implement the agreed-upon development approach. Drive change within the team. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to less senior teammates. May delegate to less senior team members; Will drive results of those to whom you are delegating. Develop team task ownership; Take initiative to determine their tasks and may assign tasks to less senior team members. Self-motivated to learn about and stay current with new and emerging technologies and capabilities and bring applicable technologies to team's best practices. Develop skills to drive conflict resolutions with professionalism within the team. Requires a Bachelor's degree in IT Technology, Data Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience in related occupations. Requires 5 years of experience in the following: Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS): SSIS for ETL processes, SSRS for reporting development, and SSAS for data modeling and analysis; Designing, developing and optimizing BI solutions to support data driven decision making; Database design, maintenance and administration: Microsoft SQL Server development experience in database design, maintenance and administration; Optimizing performance, ensuring security, managing backups and recovery and supporting dataset scalability and reliability; SharePoint and Power Platform Development: Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate Experience in SharePoint and Power Platform tools; Designing, developing and optimizing solutions for process automation, collaboration and data visualization. Requires 3 years of experience in the following: Workday Reporting, Workday Integration (including at least 2 of the following: EIB, Core Connector, Workday Studio, XSLT, Prism, BIRT) to develop, optimize and maintain Workday solutions; Data analysis, integration development, and report designing to support business needs; Machine Learning and AI, Predictive Intelligence (Service now), Natural language Processing Experience in developing and deploying machine learning model, optimizing analytics, and leveraging AI to enhance automation and decision-making within the ServiceNow Platform. Telecommuting is permitted. 40 hours/week.
