General Statement of Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Senior Finance Director of Boynton Health, the Healthcare Data Analyst Supervisor provides leadership and oversight of the business intelligence team. The position is responsible for the development of a business intelligence center of excellence (BI COE) supporting the data analytic and data visualization needs of Boynton Health. The position supervises a Business/Systems Analyst and combines hands-on data analysis with supervisory duties, ensuring the team delivers timely, accurate, and actionable insights to clinical, financial, operational, and executive stakeholders.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Data Leadership: 30%
    • Build out a unified data analysis lifecycle, from data collection and cleaning to modeling and reporting.
    • Develop and maintain data-driven strategies to solve complex healthcare problems, such as predicting demand or optimizing resource allocation.
    • Establish a prioritization framework that manages data request intake ensuring strong alignment with Boynton's strategic plan and key focus areas.
    • Collaborate with leaders across clinical, operational, marketing, public health, compliance and executive leadership teams to support data needs.
    • Translate business questions into analytic frameworks and deliver actionable insights.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: 55%
    • Lead the prioritization, development and execution of data analytic requests.
    • Access and interpret healthcare data from Boynton EMRs, billing systems, claims, and other sources.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement.
    • Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel or AI.
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), clinical outcomes, patient safety, and population health metrics.
    • Collaborate with Boynton's Director of Research and other campus partners to build out an integrated data lake for use in supporting Public Health initiatives; market analysis to build out BH addressable markets and overall market penetration.
  • Supervisory Duties: 5%
    • Manage, mentor, and develop a Business/Systems Analyst.
    • Prioritize analytical tasks and projects.
    • Conduct performance reviews and assist with hiring and training.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning, data integrity, and collaboration.
  • Miscellaneous 10%
    • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in data analysis with a Bachelor's degree, 4+ years of experience in data analysis with a Master's degree
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare terminology, coding systems (ICD, CPT, DRG), and healthcare data sources.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
  • Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., OCHIN Epic), claims databases, and regulatory reporting requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Health Informatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare with at least 1 year in a supervisor role
