Genesis10 is seeking a Project Engineer - Mechanical - for a 6-month contract position with a client located in Milwaukee, WI. This is a hybrid role requiring to be onsite from Tuesday - Thursday. Pay range $50-55/hr W2.

Summary:


The Project Engineer - Mechanical - leads and manages an engineering team responsible for the design, validation, and support of complex components for heavy-duty vehicles. This role focuses on driving continuous improvement, fostering innovation, and making critical technical decisions that impact engineering initiatives. The engineer will provide high-level technical mentorship, oversee project execution, and collaborate across internal and external teams to deliver next-generation vehicle systems and components.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage an engineering team consisting of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the engineering team.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development for team members through training, mentorship, and career development plans.
  • Prepare and control department budget, including forecasting operating costs and submitting budget requests.
  • Demonstrate business acumen, including understanding product line market share and P&L impact.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers, and suppliers.
  • Present and defend technical decisions to leadership and customers.
  • Ensure projects or portions of projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Manage multiple priorities, schedules, and budgets as needed.
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations, design validation, and analysis according to industry standards.
  • Prepare and deliver project documentation, technical proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering criteria, drawing standards, company policies, and safety requirements.
  • Provide mentorship to entry-level engineers and guidance on technical best practices.
  • Research, create, and update standard engineering methodology and procedures.
  • Support production with technical troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues.
  • Participate in capital planning, including recommending and justifying improvements.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and other resources regarding technical matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and five (5) or more years of related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and systems.
  • Experience with advanced CAD systems.


Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no corp to corp).
