Do you want to help build impactful strategies for major infrastructure pursuits across North America? Can you manage proposal development processes and collaborate across departments to secure key transportation, water, marine, and energy projects? And are you an experienced marketing and business development professional with deep knowledge of the San Diego AEC market? Then we'd love to hear from you.

Be a key contributor to COWI North America's growth
To help drive successful pursuits and grow our presence in the San Diego region, we are looking for a Capture Specialist to join our team. You are going to work closely with a team of experts and will report to the Business Development Director.

We are a dedicated team working alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects in Transportation, Water, Marine, and Energy. And we are proud to have contributed to projects like the Mount Vernon Viaduct Design-Build Projectand the iconic 6th Street Viaduct in Los Angeles.

Your key responsibilities will be:



  • Take end-to-end ownership of the entire proposal development process for assigned pursuits.
  • Lead collaborative, integrated proposal teams to plan, develop, and deliver winning proposals.
  • Support pursuit identification and capture plan development for the San Diego market.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to produce high-quality proposals and marketing resources.
  • Perform market research and track business development leads to identify new opportunities.
  • Facilitate the development of lasting relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Manage proposal resources and timelines to meet all production deadlines.

On top of that, you will have:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a marketing, business development, or proposal management function within a professional service firm.
  • Comprehensive local San Diego market knowledge of clients, selection processes, and information sources.
  • Proficient project management, relationship-building, and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and negotiate with strong personalities.
  • Strong business acumen and an innovative, creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Advanced computer skills with Adobe Creative Suites and MS Office software.
  • The ability and willingness to travel as needed.
