This person will be responsible for building, implementing, and supporting Network and Data Center solutions. This person should have experience with Cisco routing & switching, SDWAN, and wireless. Strong Cisco routing and Switching *Layer 3 routing (BGP, OSPF) *9400, 9500 switches *Nexus 7k/9k in Data Centers 2.)Wireless is helpful - Cisco ISE experience would be nice *Cisco wireless controllers and AP's (moving to 9800 series) *Currently using Cisco Prime oMoving to DNAC Technical Environment / Projects *Cisco Routers (ASR 1000's) oBGP and EIGRP *Cisco Switches (4500's and 9300's) *Installing new circuits and deploying Meraki SDWAN across multiple locations oIn the pilot phase; rolling out SDWAN over the next 6 months *Cisco wireless controllers and AP's (9800's) *Implementing ACI within their data centers Data Center locations *Data Center located in Washington, DC at the main hospital *Moving Data Center workloads to Equinix Data Center in VA *Setting up Disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS)- facility located in Pittsburgh, PA *Moving on-prem workloads to MS Azure, OCI, and AWS oSetting up express routes and connectivity to the Cloud within AWS, OCI, and Azure Description The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible to lead engineering services for network hardware and software, planning system maintenance and support and also develop system management strategies for a variety of network platforms. Responsible to plan and implement necessary hardware and software upgrades proactively. Directly responsible to monitor and maintain network infrastructure and services. Responsible to ensure the operation of a variety of network environments. Must be able to maintain and configure Cisco products and services. Provide support and management for multiple network infrastructure systems. Responsible to provide precise, detailed documentation regarding the various network environments for the change control process and the technical documentation repository. Qualifications Minimum Education *Bachelor's Degree Computer Science (Required) Or Relevant experience in network engineering beyond the minimum required work experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a 1-1 ratio i.e. one year of relevant work experience equals one year of required education. Minimum Work Experience *7 years hands-on systems engineering experience. (Required) And Prior experience in healthcare industry preferred. Systems Management *Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, load balancers, VPN, QoS) *Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations *Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. *Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. *Provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues System Integration/ Implementation *Engineer and build and maintain network platforms and services. *Integrate network products into existing network technologies. *Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, routers, switches, controllers *Set and manage deadlines. System/Project Planning *Engineer and deploy network infrastructure systems design and configuration. *Participate in design of Disaster recovery planning. *Assist in the creation of test plans and scripts for back-up and recovery solutions. *Assist in the development of network solutions. *Performs hardware and network diagnosis. *Capable of devising ways to accomplish a difficult purpose; ability to recognize a problem and construct an effective solution compatible with overall company operations. Technical Proficiency *Demonstrate understanding of standard networking protocols, virtual environments, and hybrid cloud. *Maintain professional expertise through continuing education at conferences, seminars, user group meetings & review of current literature. *Pursue industry standard technical certifications. *Provide technical support and consultation to IS staff.
