UW-Oshkosh College of Business, Arts & Communication is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join our team as an Assistant Instructional Designer, supporting faculty in the development and enhancement of online and in-person courses while advancing the integration of emerging technologies in our curriculum.This position will primarily be working with the School of Business.

If you are passionate about instructional design, you will have an opportunity to help elevate our curriculum and support our faculty in both online and in-person course development. In this exciting role, you'll:

  • Work directly with instructors to create and organize content, implement instructional technologies, and provide technical support.

  • Lead impactful training and professional development sessions for faculty and staff.

  • Create and maintain essential support materials, including instructor guides and knowledgebase articles.

  • Share the latest in instructional design and tech trends through engaging media and communications with our instructors.

This role will be reporting to our current Instructional Designerand provide you opportunities to learn and grow in the role.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves issues, and provides feedback regarding learning technologies
  • Provides consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms
  • Assists with providing basic training and technical support to learners in settings such as classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning mediums
  • Assists with the design and development of engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or online
  • Contributes to researching, designing, and/or acquiring learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learning
  • Completes initial edits, reviews, and updates of existing instructional materials
  • Provides support for faculty development and engagement programs and activities
  • Assists with the design and development of multimedia learning materials
  • Provides support for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and disseminating data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectiveness

Compensation:

Starting at $45,000 commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree

  • 3-5 years experience in training and development OR a degree in training and development or related.

  • Proven experience with Canvas (or Other LMS)

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional working relationships with internal (campus) and external constituents

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to apply and/or demonstrate the following competencies:Adult learning theories, Instructional design and development, E-learning, Remote learning, Asynchronous learning, Hybrid learning, Accessibility, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and/or Proficiency in softwaretools relevant to online education.

  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience in Higher Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a field related to instructional design and/or emerging technology
